Hello lovely people!
Today I present to you the January ASOS box. This little guy
popped up on my phone the other day and caught my eye straight away. £12 for 5
products, including full size… where is the catch?
I knew the monthly Face + Body boxes that they do had been around for a few months, I think
the first was in September, though I could be wrong. It is NOT a subscription
box, its one you must actively purchase if you want it, and if it’s popular and
sells out, then it’s tough. Now, I’m an avid shopper on the site and none of
them had ever appealed to me up until this point.
The theme with January’s box is a “skin detox” to help after
the festivities we’ve just enjoyed, and I agree that my skin needs some love. So,
I briefly skimmed over the products you get and added it to my basket. I have
premium delivery with ASOS so mine arrived next day at no extra charge.
The packaging is very minimalistic, the ASOS logo is
holographic and inside it was packed with tissue and came with a little leaflet.
Here’s what I received:
The bouncy gel formula of this mask was a nice change, the
texture felt like something you would associate with a peel-off, though this
mask didn’t even dry down. I left it on for 15 minutes and it still felt the
same to take off as it did to apply. It didn’t do anything dramatic straight
away, though it did leave my skin feeling hydrated and super soft.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – Full size – usually £8.50 on Feel Unique
Before reading it properly, I slathered this on my face and
instantly hated the texture, far too thick for my combination skin. Then I realised it’s a universal cream
for dry patches all over the body, which I’m yet to try out. I think it could
be particularly great for using whilst I have a fake tan on, to keep my ankles
and elbows from looking like the Sahara! I did however find it odd that I couldn’t
see it on the ASOS website.
Eye repair collagen pads – 1 sachet – usually sold in a pack of 5 sachets for £9.99 on ASOS
These were okay. They
didn’t wow me, but I also don’t get puffy eyes so maybe they were just wasted
on me. They did feel thoroughly relaxing though and very comfortable. I liked
the added touch of them in the box, but wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase
them.
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads – 5 pads – usually sold in a pack of 60 for £13 on ASOS
I’ve heard so much about these! I like a good chemical exfoliant
and so does my skin. These pads are absolutely soaked in product which is great,
because one goes a long way. It does leave your face feeling a bit sticky straight
after though. I almost wish there was an extra 2 so they could be trialled for
a full week, as this seems like a product you need to use regularly to see long
term results.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm – 15ml luxury sample – 200ml usually £65 on ASOS
I haven’t actually got round to trying this one yet, but I’ve
heard fab things and was impressed that you get to try this in the asos box. I’ve
previously loved Clinique’s Take the Day Off balm, and Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil, so this one seems right up my street to get my full face of make up off
with ease.
In summary, I think you’ll agree that the contents of the box is instantly saving you money. If you’re like me and like to trial things to find out what you love, I think this box
is brilliant for that. It’s down to personal preference which monthly boxes are
worth the pennies or not, so keep your eyes peeled for them. I know I will be!
