Happy new year!
2017 is officially over, and I thought it would be nice to summarise what I loved in the beauty world over those 365 days. Whilst all the products I mention may not be new launches or even new to me, here’s what I reached for time and time again last year (how weird does it feel to say that?).
SKIN:
Make up wipes, I know – boring. Though these are by far the
best I’ve come across in all my make-up wearing life. The oil in these make
them a perfect cleanse on the go and they take all traces of my make up off
effortlessly, no sore eyes from scrubbing too hard.
I had never even heard of solid cleanser until my friend
told me about the ones from lush, and after mooching around the shop I found
this – and have demolished 3 tubs since. This is such a perfect product to rid
any rubbish from your skin because it’s mainly charcoal. Word of advice, only
use this in the shower because it gets EVERYWHERE.
Where to begin with this baby? This miracle moisturiser adds
72 hours of hydration to your skin after just one application, though that
doesn’t stop me using it twice a day. My skin drinks this up and I panic when I
start to run out. It’s perfect for all skin types, including my oily combo
skin. It’s gel formula means it isn’t heavy nor greasy and I will continue to
love this long into 2018.
MAKE-UP
The colour range in this palette is phenomenal and the only
palette I need to pack if I’m going away, because of it’s versatility. Pretty
much everyone and their dog has noticed how great it is so I won’t stay here
long.
Because it doesn’t grab, apply harshly or look muddy on the
face. Easy.
What a mouthful. Yes, this only launched towards the back
end of 2017 as part of NARS holiday collection in collaboration with Man Ray,
but ever since I got my hands on it I’ve adored its perfect golden hue. I find
it works better when water is added, so I spray the pan directly with whatever
setting spray I have to hand and this creates the most blinding pay off.
As a make up lover this palette is a dream. If you swatch
this on your hand, you will probably turn your nose up and walk away. However,
once on the skin this powder sets everything down, whilst turning your make up
in to dewy goodness. Something you need to try out in person to appreciate, and
also justify spending the coins, as it is on the pricier side.
Great dupe for ABH brow wiz, in fact it worked even better
for me. I think I went through 5 or 6 of these last year, and for good reason.
I use shade Espresso because no matter how blonde I dye my hair, dark brows all
the way.
FRAGRANCE
I have been utterly obsessed with this since it came out. I
like quite interesting fragrances and this smells like nothing else on the
market. With notes of Lavender, Vanilla, Jasmine and Sandalwood this eau de
parfum smells so, unbelievably feminine and beautiful, and every time I wear it
someone asks what it is. I think it is the first fragrance I will forever re
purchase throughout my life.
An oldie but a goodie. Any fragrance that you can continue
to smell on yourself throughout the day is instantly a win for me, because you
know everyone else can smell it too. Tom Ford always accomplish that, and I
particularly love the tuberose in this one. I personally prefer the eau de
toilette over the parfum, as its just sliiightly too intense for my liking.
And there we are! I hope you enjoyed my round up of my best products from last year. Let me know your thoughts on them too.
