My Foundation Obsession

Hello Lovely People!

Some people buy lots of shoes. Some buy lots of lipstick. Me? I buy lots of foundation.
It’s my favourite part of my make up routine. Hands down. There’s something so satisfying about seeing all the imperfections and uneven skin tone disappearing the more you apply.

I thought I’d use my collection to my advantage, and pick out a few of my favourites for different wants and needs so that if any of you are on the market for a newbie, i might be able to push you in a helpful direction.

Oily skin

This foundation dries down and feels matte to the touch, so much so that I don’t even need to set it with a powder - which is a revelation for me. In my experience this will work wonders at staying on oily skin all day and keeping a shiny T zone from occurring. This is one I pick if I know I have a long day ahead of me, especially when it comes to travelling. It's long-lasting abilities are like black magic, I swear.

Dry skin

Those with dry skin need to look no further. Le Teint Touche Éclat has the most beautiful, dewy finish that doesn’t cling to dry patches or go patchy. This is my faaaavourite foundation in Winter, when my skin is lack lustre and needs a bit of TLC. It makes me look all healthy and glowy and has the same illuminating properties as the famous Touche Éclat pen, meaning it’s meant to give you the appearance that you’ve had 8 hours sleep - something we are all guilty of not getting.

Special occasions

This is my all time favourite foundation, I just don’t use it a lot. I whack this baby out for any special occasion or where I know I could be caught on camera. This cream stick literally melts in to the skin as you blend and leaves a gorgeous full coverage finish that lasts all night. I use this sparingly as it does have a high price tag, but it is for good reason. I also think treating my face to my top shelf products from time to time really boosts my mood and I can definitely tell the difference to my usual day to day, and this has been the best I’ve come across to date.

On A Budget

This is a big brand in the United States, found in drug stores at affordable prices. My favourite influencer and big name beauty youtuber, Tati (GlamLifeGuru) is obsessed with this, and therefore I had to buy it. Since it’s not a brand readily available at a pop to the shops in the UK, I turned to Amazon. I think this is usually only about $5 but all in all I paid just over £10 after p&p which is still a bargain in my eyes. I am amazed at the quality of this and would say it’s even better than some of my high end products. The formula is a lightweight matte finish and every day that I wear this I get multiple compliments on how my skin looks, I even plan on buying multiple shades so I can wear it when I’m not tanned as well!

Great For Everyday

Luminous silk is a cult classic. If you’re like me and you love a glowy skin day then this is the answer. There’s just no faults with this one. It’s a brilliant all rounder and a foundation I wear on a very frequent basis. It doesn’t feel heavy, never looks cakey and with a bit of powder in areas it stays put throughout my day - looking fresh for hours on end. Definitely one that ticks all of the boxes.

That brings us to the end of this little post! I’m always looking to buy more foundation, even when I don’t need to. If you have any suggestions of what to try next - make sure to let me know!
